Superformance Daytona Coupe

The first and only American made car to win the World Manufacturer’s Championship for Grand Touring Racecars, the Daytona Coupe transformed American road racing. Originally referred to as the “Daytona Car,” the coupe officially earned its name while being built for the Daytona race. Peter Brock designed the original Daytona Coupe body in 1964. In all only six cars were built, each hand made and therefore unique.

In 1996 Peter Brock & Bob Negstad were reunited by Jim Price of Hi-Tech Automotive in pursuit of a vision. He wanted to create the definitive Daytona Coupe, not by replication but by drawing on history to produce a new modern car, better than the original with spiritual ties to the past. So given the best resources, not just to recreate their original designs but to take them forward and evolve them, Peter Brock, Bob Negstad and Jim Price developed the Superformance Daytona Cobra – a modern day supercar that transcends its heritage.
